What is Speech to Text?
Speech recognition converts spoken audio from your microphone into written text using the browser's Web Speech Recognition API. DailyDevTools' Speech to Text tool provides real-time transcription with language selection — useful for drafting content hands-free, creating meeting notes, transcribing recorded material, or building voice-controlled apps. Processing happens in the browser without uploading audio.
How to use Speech to Text
- 1Allow microphone access when prompted by your browser
- 2Select your speaking language from the language dropdown
- 3Click Start Listening and speak clearly — text appears in real-time as you speak
- 4Click Stop to end the session. Click Copy to copy your transcribed text
